CUFFLINKS AND STUDS

Studs are shown on a custom tuxedo
shirt. You may also request a convertible front
with buttons and extra buttonholes.
We recommend gemstone cufflinks and studs,
and choosing them first, before choosing your
dress shirt fabrics.
You will know your fabrics when you have them
in your hands. Ask your tailor for fabric swatches.
Then you can frame the look with non-distracting
jacket, pants and shoes so the focus is up front
and at your cuffs.
Consider a convertible shirt front, to wear
with or without studs. And convertible cuffs, which
you can button or wear with the cuff links.
HOW THEY WORK
For mushroom-shaped studs, push the base of the
stud through the holes in the shirt front from the
outside in, turning it like a button. Reverse to remove.
For T-shaped pipestem studs, squeeze the spring-
loaded cross bar, push the larger end through the
holes and release the spring. Reverse to remove.
For cufflinks, close the swivel bar to thread
through the holes, and open it to secure. Reverse
to remove. Most designs work the same way.
WHICH GEMSTONES
Understated Frosted Crystal Cuff Links
in sterling silver work very well with shades of grey.
Deep-silver Hematite Cufflinks and Studs will
cover most formal occasions, as will glossy
Black Jade Cufflinks and Studs.
For celebrations, unique matching Paua Cufflinks
and Studs work well.
We suggest you start with the gemstone and dress
it appropriately for the occasion. What others will
be wearing may guide you.
It helps to put on your cufflinks and studs
with the rest of your formal dresswear at least
once before the occasion, so you will feel
comfortable on the day.
