Tuxedo Shirt Front

HOW TO WEAR
CUFFLINKS AND STUDS

Consider gemstone cufflinks and studs,
and choosing them first, before even choosing
the shirt fabric.

You will know the fabrics best when you
have them in your hands. Ask your tailor for
fabric swatches.

Then you can frame the look with tuxedo
and pants, so the focus is up front and
at your cuffs.

For most flexibility, consider a convertible
shirt front, to wear with or without studs.
And convertible cuffs, which you can
button or wear with cufflinks.

HOW THEY WORK

For mushroom-shaped studs, push the base of
the stud through the holes in the shirt front from the
outside in, as you would for a button.

For T-shaped pipestem studs, squeeze the spring-
loaded cross bar and, larger end first,
push through the holes from the outside before
releasing the spring.

For cufflinks, close the swivel bar to thread
the stem through the holes of the cuff from the
outside, and open the bar to secure.

Bone Ivory Vermeil/Sterling Silver Cufflinks

It helps to put on your cufflinks and studs
with the rest of your formal wear at least once
before the occasion, so you will feel
comfortable on the day.
